Morning People are proud to present New Zealand electronic music heavyweight and Morning People favourite Daniel Farley.

Daniel Farley has been a mainstay in the New Zealand dance scene for well over a decade, from winning best DJ at the Nite:Life awards in 2010/2011, right up to winning best venue at the 2017 + 2018 George FM awards with his club creation IMPALA. Under the production alias TERACE he has remixed the likes of Rufus, Peking Duk, Flume and Miami Horror.

He is an owner of record label Medium Rare Recordings, as well as event company Red Rum Touring, and house and techno brand in Australia Charades. He runs several festivals across the country and internationally, including Your Paradise Fiji, Hidden Valley, and Summer Classic. After touring hundreds of international acts across his career his musical taste and repertoire is vast and eclectic. 

His style has evolved into solid, upfront house music, with the odd classic thrown in for good measure.

In a huge double header, Brazil’s Majorie Sinclair and Zeisha Fremaux play back to back especially for Morning People. 

With nearly a decade of DJing behind her, Majorie Sinclair has played some impressive parties. She’s played support for FTAMPA, KOMES, Some Blonde DJ, she’s played at parties for Highlife Entertainment and Maserati, and even DJ’d T-Pain and Justin Timberlake’s official afterparty. She’s played across New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and will be playing Spring Break in Fiji later in the year.

DJ, producer, singer, songwriter and model Zeiha Fremaux has played support for some of the world’s biggest electronic and pop artists, including TroyBoi, Katy Perry, Halsey, DJ Tigerlily and ICARUS. She’s toured China, regularly plays dates across the country, and has just landed a residency in Las Vegas and tours through Asia and Europe. Zeisha’s star is definitely on the rise.

Morning People welcomes back Greg “The Godfather” Churchill.

No stranger to dancefloors of up to 8000 people, from 6:30am – 8:00am on Wednesday 28th November, Greg will be laying it down for Morning People.

Greg’s career winds its way back through New Zealand’s most iconic clubs, record stores and dancefloors to 1984, where he began his career on the Christchurch airwaves, championing hip-hop and electro records alongside soul, funk and disco.

Since then, he’s played alongside some of dance music’s foremost pioneers, including Carl Cox, Stacey Pullen, Derrick May, Jeff Mills and Ritchie Hawtin. Greg’s track Budonkadonk became the third song by a New Zealand based artist to hit the UK charts (after OMC and Concord Dawn), and his productions have been released on labels including Toolroom, Great Stuff, Hed Kandi, Azuli, Gung Ho and his own Move To Trash label.

Morning People present DJ and producer extraordinaire, Dick ‘Magic’ Johnson.

Dick got his start as a fresh-faced teenager in the mid-80’s as a resident DJ at Manchester’s legendary Hacienda nightclub. Since then he’s played to crowds from Russia to Argentina, he’s produced alongside some of the most respected names in dance music, and has remixed tracks for electronic luminaries DJ Sneak, Crookers, Claude Von Stroke, Ian Pooley and Bassnectar. 

 Dick is a founding member of electro-world dance phenomena Weird Together, (recently signed to Major Lazer’s Feel Up Records), is one half of dance pop duo Clicks, and adds his touch of magic to the airwaves on Friday afternoons on George FM.

In a huge double header, for our last party of the 2018 Morning People present dance music heavyweight Dan Aux and drum and bass don Chiccoreli. The party will sprawl across two rooms – with house music in Whammy and Drum and Bass in the Whammy Backroom.

DJ, producer and drive host for New Zealand’s favourite dance music station George FM, Dan Aux is a man of many talents. He’s one of the country’s most in-demand DJs – a regular on the weekend club circuit and a summer festival favourite. He’s played alongside Skrillex, Steve Aoki, Peking Duk, What So Not, SBTRKT, Jauz and Rufus, and has lent his production skills to local legends P Money and KINGS.

Drum and Bass aficianado and North London native Chiccoreli moved to the land of milk and honey in 2011, bringing with him crates full of bad boy basslines and the finest drum and bass the world has to offer.

He’s played parties, clubs and festivals across the world, supporting the who’s who of drum and bass, including Roni Size, Goldie, The Upbeats, LTJ Bukem and Marcus Intalex. Locally, you may have caught him at legendary festivals Northern Bass, Rhythm and Vines and Splore.
