His diverse, quick, party style of mixing and genre mashups have landed him spots at Caribbean beach bars, French night clubs and Samoan hip hop clubs. He’s supported fancy acts like Bloody Beetroots, Busy P, Boys Noize and Breakbot, he holds down a residency at Ponsonby Social Club and he hosts a monthly club night at Heads Garage.

Hailing from small town New Zealand, Melbourne-based prodigal son of electronic music James Martin returns to Auckland for two exclusive shows. An in demand DJ and deft producer, he is the brains behind iconic clubnights SONIKTONIK (AKL) and DE:TUNED at Melbourne’s legendary Killing Time.

He’s played alongside luminaries Mike Monday, DJ T, Spy vs. Spy, Out of Sorts, and has graced the lineups of  legendary Australian festivals Rainbow Serpent and Burning Seed. DJ, producer and drive host for New Zealand’s favourite dance music station George FM, Dan Aux is a man of many talents. He’s one of the country’s most in-demand DJs – a regular on the weekend club circuit and a summer festival favourite. Morning People are proud to present legendary DJ and promoter Ferksta.

John Paul Moss AKA `Ferksta' played his first real DJ set with a handful of junglist and hardcore records that he brought back from the UK in the summer of 1991.

Since that time he has had a hand in creating some of New Zealand’s most iconic festivals and memorable and well-loved clubnights. He is co-owner of NYE festival Aum, he was co-owner of the decadent and now infamous VELVET parties at The Civic in the late 90s and early 2000s, and regularly throws parties at large format venue The Studio in Auckland.

He is a musical adventurer, having traversed the full gamit of the electronic music landscape – from garage, to house and techno to psychedelic trance.

While he is now best known as a psychedelic trance DJ, he is preparing something special for his Morning People debut. Expect a high energy, bouncy tech house set with a peppering of psychedelia.

Morning People feat. The Dastardly Bounder

Morning People are excited to welcome back notable cad and scallywag, The Dastardly Bounder.

With over 20 years of DJing under his belt, The Dastardly Bounder is an originator of New Zealand’s outdoor dance party scene. In the early 90s he started New Zealand’s seminal rave Entrain, and he and was also a founding member of Splore Festival.

A favourite on the summer festival circuit, The Bounder recently played the main stage at Splore Festival, at Cuba Dupa in Wellington, and recently returned from playing dates in Germany.

Morning People feat. Jamie Newman

On 26th September Morning People co-founder Jamie Newman plays Morning People.

An all-round DIY party-starter, Jamie Newman got his start DJing, promoting and playing parties and festivals in the late 90s. He’s played in forests, at fashion parties, on beaches, on the airwaves, at house parties, and at some of New Zealand’s and the world’s most iconic festivals - including Splore, The Gathering and Nevada’s Burning Man festival.

In 2012 Jamie introduced No Lights No Lycra to New Zealand – curating over 150 hours of music and growing the crazy concept from 10 friends dancing in a hall to over 100 people regularly letting loose in the dark on a Monday night.

In 2016 he co-founded Morning People, now a regular fixture on the dance scene.
