Morning People welcomes back a name synonymous with NZ electronic music -  the inimitable Greg Churchill.

No stranger to dancefloors of up to 8000 people, from 6:30am – 8:00am on Wednesday 23rd May, Greg will be laying it down for Morning People.

Greg’s career winds its way back through New Zealand’s most iconic clubs, record stores and dancefloors to 1984, where he began his career on the Christchurch airwaves, championing hip-hop and electro records alongside soul, funk and disco.

Since then, he’s played alongside some of dance music’s foremost pioneers, including Carl Cox, Stacey Pullen, Derrick May, Jeff Mills and Ritchie Hawtin. Greg’s track Budonkadonk became the third song by a New Zealand based artist to hit the UK charts (after OMC and Concord Dawn), and his productions have been released on labels including Toolroom, Great Stuff, Hed Kandi, Azuli, Gung Ho and his own Move To Trash label.

Don’t miss this opportunity to wake up and shake it with one of NZ’s national treasures of electronic music

Morning People are turning two, and to celebrate we are tickled pink to present raconteur, DJ and broadcaster Mikey Havoc.

It’s been a whopping two years, jam-packed full of big basslines, fancy footwork, friendly faces and the best DJs New Zealand has to offer. To say thanks to everyone for getting up early to party with us, we are hosting an almighty bash for our second birthday that will be broadcast live throughout the morning on the mighty bfm.

Host of the bfm breafast show, Mikey Havoc needs little introduction. Alongside his broadcasting career, his music career winds its way back through the DJ booths of some of New Zealand’s most iconic clubs, and stages across the nation as frontman of Push Push.

Dance floor treats will be served alongside piping hot Altezano Brothers coffee, organic Almighty juice, fresh fruit, VEGAN BIRTHDAY CAKE and KOMBUCHA MOCKTAILS, made fresh before your very eyes by the handsome devils at Lokal.
